A cover of a Charles Trenet song by Mika for a new advert for the SNCF.
The advert is a cornerstone of a massive publicity campaign for the French railways, in particular their TGV service.
Mika says that when the project was suggested, he immediately said yes because when he was working with Michel Legrand on a cover of Vive le Vent, Legrand introduced him to the music of Trenet and he loved Je Chante, a song he describes as having the kind of alchemy he tries to find in his own songs.
The song was originally written in 1937, as the title track for a musical film.
Mika has become a French artist by adoption, the new video placing him firmly in the French landscape.
Mika's most recent album No Place in Heaven was released in June.

Benjamin Biolay: Revoir Paris
A new single by Benjamin Biolay, with his version of the Charles Trenet song Revoir Paris.It comes ahead of a new album by Biolay which features his interpretations of 12 songs by Trenet.
Trenet's original version of the song came from 1947. Biolay's version is a chilled jazzy arrangement where he is accompanied by Nicolas Fiszman and Denis Benarrosh.
It's two and a half years since Biolay's last album, Vengeance.
Biolay's new album is avaiable from June 15, and he plays two nights in Paris at Les Folies Bergere on June 29 and 30.

Charles Trenet: Chanson pour Noël
Another archive French Christmas hit, this time by Charles Trenet, one of France's most famous singers of the 20th century.
The song was originally released in 1956.
Trenet is probably best known for his hit La Mer, which became known to an English speaking audience under the title Beyond The Sea.
His career, however, began before the Second World War, eventually retiring from singing in 1975.
He however returned in 1981, making occasional re-appearances and recordings, and album emerging in 1999 entitled Les poètes descendent dans la rue.
He eventually died in 2001, a true legend of old school French chanson.
