Hyphen Hyphen: KND

A new video's been released by Hyphen Hyphen for the track KND, marking the release of their second album HH.

Hyphen Hyphen have been featured on this blog since way back in 2015, and it has been quite something to see HH develop into France's premier electro pop act.

Their Times debut album helped secure them a Victoires de la Musique best newcomer award, no doubt assisted by their relentless touring across all corners of the hexagon.

The new video follows the release of the track Like Boys, the first single from the album which came out at the end of May.

Hyphen Hyphen are set to continue their hyperactive touring schedule, with dates planned from now until January in France, Switzerland and Germany.

They are at the Olympia in Paris on October 12.

Hyphen Hypen: Like Boys

A new track by Hyphen Hyphen ahead of the release of the electro pop act's second album.

Their 2015 debut Times included the tracks I Need Your Love and We Light the Sunshine which made a significant impact with the French public, while constant touring resulted in them taking home the breakthrough live act at the Victoires de la Musique awards in 2016.

The new video's got a strong flavour of 80s American RnB clips, the song's a serious slice of 21st century girl power that's got its finger on the pulse.

Hyphen Hyphen are now a trio, Zac having left the band which now consists of Santa, Adam and Line.

Hyphen Hyphen's new album is due to be released on May 25

Hyphen Hyphen: Just Need your Love - Deezer Session

A Deezer session by Hyphen Hyphen, published just the day after the band picked up the breakthrough
act Victoires de la Musique award.

Always a real pleasure to see a band up close and live, filmed in the kind of quality that only a few years ago would only have been at the disposal of more established acts with a great deal of financial backing.

Hyphen Hyphen were one of the acts that performed at the Victoires ceremony in Paris on Friday, introducing then to a massive audience.

Their debut album Times was realeased in September last year, but I suspect that a few more copies of that have been purchased over the past week.

They've got a busy schedule of live dates in the forthcoming months, with shows around France and beyond, and play the Vieilles Charrues festival in July.

Hyphen Hyphen - The Fear is Blue ( C à vous )

An appearance on French TV by Hyphen Hyphen, popping up on evening chat show C à vous with the
shone The Fear is Blue.

I featured them last year around the time of the release of their Times debut album, so it's a real pleasure to seean emerging act them make an appearance on the mainstream media.

The track features on the band's album which was released in September.

Hyphen Hyphen have extensive live dates scheduled, with shows in France and elsewhere from February until the summer when they play festivals including Les Vielles Charrues in Carhaix, Brittany.

Kid Wise: Miroir

Pretty much a two-for-the-price-of-one collaboration, with a track by Kid Wise, this time remixed by Hyphen Hyphen.

The track originated on the Kid Wise album L'innocence, the band's debut, which came out in March.

Hyphen Hyphen release their debut collection Time today, September 18 2015.

Kid Wise play at La Cigale in paris on October 16. Hyphen Hyphen, meanwhile,  play La Maroquinerie in Paris on October 5.

Hyphen Hyphen: Monte le Son session

I featured Hyphen Hyphen recently on the blog, so nice to come across a session by them for Monte
le Son

The band plays Just Need your Love, the track that featured as their most recent single
The four piece, originally from Nice,  released a four track EP last month featuring the tracks The Fear Is Blue,  I See Myself and two versions of Just Need Your Love.

I always like a session clip like this, giving us a closer picture of a band than perhaps an official clip does, while obviously presenting them in the best possible light.

Hyphen Hyphen have been getting quite a lot of well-deserved attention, something that shows little sign of abating.

Their debut album Times is expected to be released on September 18 and I suspect that there are hopes they will be one of the breakthrough acts of 2016.

New Acts: Hyphen Hyphen - Just Need Your Love

A strong piece of work by Nice-based four piece Hyphen Hyphen, with a video for the track Just Need Your Love from their newly released  EP.

Hyphen Hyphen make a very modern pop sound, electro that is informed by the ambitious  sounds of the likes of Florence and the Machine and M83 but retaining an approachable pop sensibility.

They have just released a four track EP featuring the tracks The Fear Is Blue,  I See Myself and two versions of Just Need Your Love.

Their debut album Times is expected to be released on September 18.
