Adrien Gallo: Ultra Moderne Solitude

A tasteful session version of the song Ultra moderne Solitude by Adrien Gallo, recorded for Le Figaro newspaper's Avant-Scènes du Figaro video section.

Gallo is known for being the singer with BB Brunes, but has embarked on a solo career with the release of his Gemini album in November last year.

Ultra Moderne Solitude  was originally a hit for Alain Souchon, the title track of his 1988 album.

The music was written by Laurent Voulzy.

Gallo's version is a much more electro take on the song.

Gallo has also established himself in recent years as a songwriter for other artists, with songs recorded by Vanessa Paradis on her  Love Songs collection, as well as songs for Hollysiz.

Alain Souchon and Laurent Voulzy: La baie des fourmis

A new single by  Alain Souchon and Laurent Voulzy, with the track La baie des fourmis being
promoted from their self-titled  collaborative album.

The album has been a massive success since its release in December last year.  The pair have found that there's still a massive market for their brand of easy listening chanson in France.

Their album went to number one in France, and went on to win a Victoires de la musique award earlier this year for the best chanson/variety album of the year.

They've released two singles from the album so far, Derrière les mots and Oiseau malin.

The album is the first time the two artists write and perform together, Souchon having enjoyed a career as a hugely successful solo artist since the 70s, Voulzy with a career that spans a similar era and his La Septième Vague album reaching number one in 2006.

They've collaborated before, but until the released of the album it just songwriting rather than performing together as well.

Souchon and Voulzy are in the middle of a tour, with shows at arenas across France including four nights at the Zénith in Paris in December

Alain Souchon and Laurent Voulzy

Another success for veteran French artists, with the new album by  Alain Souchon and Laurent
Voulzy reaching the top of the album charts.

It follows the new release by Johnny Hallyday to the number one position in France.

The two artists have been friends for decades and it has taken a while for them to finally release a collaborative collection.

Souchon's career stretches back to the early 70s, and he had his biggest commercial successes in the 1990s.

Voulzy is himself an established solo artist, but has collaborated with  Alain Souchon since the mid 1970s. Their new album is the first time the two write and perform together.

The song Derrier les Mots was released as a single ahead of the release, reaching the French top 40.
