Casseurs Flowters: Regarde comme il fait beau (dehors)

A imaginative video for the track Regarde comme il fait beau (dehors) by Casseurs Flowters.

The track comes from the duo's album Orelsan et Gringe sont les Casseurs Flowters, which was released in November last year.

Casseurs Flowters consists of rapper Orlesan and Gringe, who have been working together since 2004.

Last year saw the pair release their first full album together, having previously released a mixtape in 2004.

Orlesan  has of course established himself as one of France's foremost - and most controversial - rappers, his most recent collection being 2011's Le Chant des sirènes.

Orelsan: Live at the Jazz Café, London

A heads up for French rapper Orelsan who plays in London later this week.

The rapper, known to his family as Aurélien Cotentin, has released two albums, Perdu d'avance in 2009 and Le Chant des Sirènes in 2011.

Le Chant des sirènes was a platinum selling album, with over 100,000 copies sold since its release.

Last year he won two Victoires de la Musique awards for rap/urban album of the year and for breakthrough group or artist (public choice). this year he was nominated for the best male artist of the year.

As a white male rapper, he's been described as the French Eminem. Probably by anglophone journalists who don't know any French rappers or any other white rappers.

As with many rappers, his success has not been without controversy, with some of his lyrics held up as mysogenistic and inciting violence, others claiming that criticism of his work and cancellation of his shows as a consequence of his lyrics amounted to censorship.

Orelsan plays the Jazz Café tomorrow, Feb 19.

New: Toxic Avenger - Never Stop

A new single by French electronic producer Simon Delacroix - better known as The Toxic Avenger.

The video, a classy and artistic affari directed by Antoine Wagner is a world away from the trashy movie Delacroix takes his stage name from.

Vocals on this track are by Robert Bruce.

Delacroix worked in diffrerent genres, from punk to metal, before working with electro sounds, taking some of the influence of his previous types of music with him.

His album Angst was released in 2010, and he has already been rated as the next big thing by Rolling Stone and worked with rapper Orelsan, mixing electro with hip hop.

He's remixed some big names as well, including Chromeo and Benni Benassi.

Toxic Avenger is touring Australia in August, and has some dates in Germany and Switzerland later, with French dates in September, October, November and December including a a show at La Cigale in Paris on September 16.
