La Jeunesse Emmerde le Front National

With the death of Jean-Marie Le Pen, we don't care to remember his vile politics, his ideology of hatred and division, his friends who were on the wrong side of history or the legion of idiots who followed him.

We remember and celebrate all who rejected him, who united in new ways to make their voices heard loud and clear that the values of modern France were not the values of Vichy. That liberty, equality and brotherhood do not have terms and conditions or exclusions applicable.

He died at a time when some people who should know better need to remember that the lies offered by the far-right are always far wrong. We remember though that Le Pen's hateful agenda promised much and delivered nothing other than soiling the political discourse of the country and beyond.

It's a stain that has tarnished society from Paris to Washington to the world, as the right dusts down its old uniforms to disguise the fact that they're more thieves than politicians while centrists politely drift in the same direction while trying not to rock a boat that should have long ago been sunk.

We remember Le Pen was ultimately a failure despite his posturing as the powerful, and how he was rejected by the voters and thrown out of his own party.

We remember how he inspired a reaction against racism, inspired solidarity between people and made people realise that being actively involved meant there could be real hope for something better rather than empty lies peddled by Le Pen and his hopeless friends.
