Roméo Elvis: Nappeux

However you measure it, there's something very strange about the Atomium building in Brussels. It's a landmark like no other, sitting over the city like something from a science fiction movie.

It's an appropriate visual metaphor for the video by Roméo Elvis for the track Nappeux.

French rapper Grems also makes an appearance on the track which was produced by Le Motel. It originally featured on the Roméo Elvis/Le Motel album Morale 2 which is being re-issued as a deluxe edition next year.

Some of the video is shot at the Théâtre royal des Galeries, a more traditional landmark for the city but it's the Atomium that makes it clear that the action for Roméo Elvis' track centres on Brussels.

Booba: LVMH

A new video from Rapper Booba

the track LVMH comes from the rappers forthcoming album. The new collection, to be entitled D.U.C. is his seventh.

The video's an extravagent affir, with perhaps a nod to Kubrik's Eyes Wide Shut.

It follows his 2012 Future , a top five album in France. He's twice topped the French album charts, with Ouest Side in 2006 and Lunatic in 2012, a double platinum selling collection.

There's no denying the popularity of rap in France, and while there are no doubt many who look on French rap as an imitation of US style, there's little doubt that artists like Booba are as capable of delivering the goods as any of their transatlantic competition.

Fauve: Hautes Lumières

A new track by Paris-based collective Fauve, the first track from the follow-up to their Vieux Frères partie 1.

The album was one of 2014's key releases, with the band performing across France and elsewhere to support  it, establishing themselves beyond doubt as one of the country's most significant acts.

The new track, entitled  Hautes Lumières, shows a more upbeat and positive direction, with an epic and uplifting sound underscored by their distinctive vocal style.

The new collection, entited  Vieux Frères partie 2 is expected on February 16 and like its predecessor it will be awaited with impatience and expectation of something quite special.
