Lou Doillon: Weekender baby

A new album released this week by Lou Doillon, the follow up to her massively successful 2012
album Places.

That album saw the daughter of director Jacques Doillon and iconic singer/actress Jane Birkin pick up the  Victoires de la Musique award for best female act the following year.

The new collection Lay Low follows that debut and subsequent tour, and it shows her maintaining her position as an artist in her own right, with a distinctive voice and a mature style.

Weekender Baby was released as the third single from the album, emerging last week just days ahead of the album. It followed Where to start and Good Man.

She's got a massive schedule of live dates in November and December, including a show at the Casino de Paris on December 8.

Lou Doillon: Good Man

Another exrtact from the forthcoming Lou Doillon album, with the track Good Man.

It will feature on the new album Lay Low, which is due out on October 9.

The new track follows the release of Where To Start last month.

Lay Low is the follow up to her 2012 debut Places, a top three album in France, and which led to a 2013 Victoires de la Musique award for best female artist.

Following the release of the album, Doillon takes to the road in France, with shows around the country from October 24, including a show at the Casino de Paris on December 8.

Lou Doillon: Where To Start

A new video by Lou Doillon, the track Where to Start emerging ahead of the release of her second
album.

It follows her 2012 debut Places, a collection that went on to sell in huge quantities  with the success of songs like I.C.U and Devil or Angel. She picked up a Best female Artist award  in the 2013 Victoires de la Musique awards.

Before the release of her album, Doillon had made a name for herself as an actress, with roles in films since the late 80s. She's also a model, having worked for big names like Givenchy and Pirelli.

The fact that her mother is Jane Birkin and her father director Jacques Doillon may have helped a bit initially, but the length of her career and the success of her album are essentially down to her.

Douillon has got tour dates around France in the autumn, and plays at the Casino de Paris on
December 8.

Her new album Lay Low is expected on October 9.
