L.E.J. - Liberté, Egalité...

August us traditionally the holiday month in France, with shops and businesses closed, the roads and the trains heading south and to the west busier than usual, and a song by LEJ getting played on repeat on the radio.

This year France's favourite female harmony act are singing the praises of the country's World Cup hero Kylian Mbappé, the teenager credited with their tournament win earlier this summer.

He was the youngest ever French World Cup goalscorer, and also only the second teenager ever to score in a World Cup final, the only previous one being Pelé, who congratulated him on social media. He was awarded the tournament's Fifa World Cup Best Young Player award.

He's a hero now, and his achievements look set to establish him as a legend. It's well deserved. From his rise from AS Bondy to the national team, he's been an inspiration.

The video captures nicely some of the atmosphere of the event. The action might have been on the pitch in Moscow, but the celebrations were on the streets all over France.

The tournament is over, the winners now back home and another season of domestic football is on the immediate horizon. But a summer hit celebrating the historic event keeps that French feel-good factor flowing a little longer.

LEJ: Get Lucky

It has been a while since versions of Get Lucky were a thing, but proper pop stars LEJ revealed their version of the track in an appearance on France 2.

The trio of Lucie, Elisa and Juliett have had massive success this year with their track Summer 2015, re-versioning summer hits in their own style.

They've released a collection of cover versions entitled En attendant l'album, which includes Get Lucky as well as ten other tracks, with Summer 2015 and Hip Hop Mash Up also featuring.

They're 2016 diaries are already looking quite full, with extensive live dates throughout next year across France including a date at L'Olympia in October at the end.

LEJ: Hip Hop Mashup

One of the big commercial successes in France this summer, and some time after, was the track Summer
2015 by LEJ, an act consisting of three young artists who mashed together the hit songs of the season, making their own hit.

This time round they take on some hip hop tracks, with Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Dr Dre coming under their gaze.

Lucie, Elisa and Juliette obviously hope that they repeat the success of Summer 2015, a number one with over 22 million views on YouTube. Perhaps they will, Hip Hop Mashup has already hit over a million views in a matter of days.

But, while  it's hard to think of them as anything other than a novelty act, their debut album is scheduled for 2016 and a large scale tour sees them perform all over France, with a sold-out show at La Cigale in Paris on March 3 and another Paris date at L'Olympia on May 27.
