Owlle: In the dark
If there's one trend that seems to be emerging in 2018, it's the return of acts I've previously featured on this blog returning with new material that's every bit as strong as the work that first grabbed my attention.
Another of these acts is Owlle, with the new tack In the dark. Owlle - known as France Picoulet to her friends and family - is one of the many impressive female artists that have emerged in the last few years in France.
Owlle first got our attention with songs like Ticky Ticky, followed by her debut album France in 2014.
Speaking about the new release on Facebook, she commented: "I'm back and ready to shine." There's no argument with that.

Jabberwocky featuring Owlle: Ignition
An interesting collaboration between Jabberwocky and Owlle for the track Ignition. It follows Jabberwocky recent hit Photomaton, a success possibly due to it featuring in an advertising campaign for Peugeot.
Its follow up features the voice of Owlle, whose Ticky Ticky EP was released in 2012, her debut aklbum France coming out last year.
Ignition, along with Photomaton both feature on Jabberwocky's forthcoming debut album, which is available to pre-order.
Lunar Lane is due to be relased on October 16, and Jabberwocky have dates around France in October and November, and play at La GaÎte Lyrique in Paris on December 12.

Owlle: Acoustic
Another strong edition of the French music program Acoustic at the weekend, this week featuring Owlle. The show is broadcast weekly on the TV5 Monde channel.
I first came across Owlle ahead of their show in the UK at the Great Escape festival in Brighton this time last year, and it's been great to see her gain some much- deserved recognition in the 12 months since.
Her first release was the EP Ticky Ticky at the end of 2012, and her debut album France was released in January this year, with the song Don't Lose It emerging as a clip shortly after.
The session on Acoustic features Fog, Ticky Ticky, Free, Don't lose It, Silence as well as a brief interview.
The low key arrangements of the songs in the session make for some great listening.

Owlle: Don't Lose It
A classy piece of electro released as the new single by Owlle, entitled Don't Lose It, coinciding with the release of her debut album France.
I mentioned Owlle on the blog here last year, when she played at the Great Escape festival in Brighton, and its good to see her getting some more attention.
last year her song Ticky Ticky established her as an act worth watching, her new album should see her become one of 2014's key acts.
The single features a number of remixes, by Maelstrom, Pyramid, and one by US producer Saint-Pepsi .
She's got a series of live dates across France, including one in Paris on February 12 at the Point Ephemere.
Her album has just been released in France, and comes out in March 17 in the UK.
